I Blame it on the Sun

This is a song I wrote back in the winter of 2009, but one that I haven’t yet shared outside my family circle. At the time I wrote this, my bride-to-be lived in Tokyo and I in Toronto. With her work and my school schedule as well as with the Earth’s spin cycle it was often difficult to meet each other on Skype, especially as my end of semester approached.

One evening/morning we were talking, but it was quite late/early and I had to go to bed (approximately 12:00 JST). She looked a little down and I asked her what was wrong. She shook her head and said, “I blame it on the sun.”

Without further adieu, on the eve of our six-month anniversary:

The following is a picture of Ami and I trying to get the attention of seagulls with mouldy bread, in hopes of starting a feeding frenzy. We were not successful.
